High School Musical on Ice and Sledding

There are some perks to owning a business. On Friday Don got a call from the company that we advertise with and she had 3 tickets to the High School Music the Ice Tour at the Honda Center that she wasn't going to be able to use. The company was sponsoring that nights show and they had a special pre-show event gathering where we got to meet and take pictures with a couple of the skaters. They also had free programs, pom-poms, megaphones, churros, pretzels, and sodas. Not only did we get all the freebies the seats were awesome we sat 5 rows back from the ice. The show was great Nick sang every song and he has the movies memorized so he did all the dance moves as well. There was a little boy sitting in front of  us that covered his ears and looked back at us like 100 times...Oh Well. To say the least Tatum, Nick and I had a wonderful time.

Today I took the kids sledding . It was a very long day. First we went to my old stomping grounds at Mt. Baldy but we only got 10 minutes up the hill before the Highway Patrol turned us around. They said that there were to many people on the mountain and that no one else could go up. We waited for about 20 minutes then decided to head to Wrightwood near Mountain High. What would normally take us 30 minutes to get there took us nearly 3 hours. To put this all in time prospective we left our house at 12:00pm and didn't get out of our car to sled till 4:00pm. We sled for 2 hours which was plenty of time the kids were cold and it was dark and we were tired from climbing the hills. We got home at 8:45pm even more tired and full of stories about the fun.  First of all Trevor went down his first hill and headed straight toward a tree. He had to abort and went through a bush that tore his jeans. Nick went down his first hill and slid off the tube and kept going and rolled over and over it was great. Triston and Jacob had solid rides the whole night except for one that Triston went on his own. He went over a jump and got impressive air. The only thing about impressive air is that you have to land and it was a hard landing. Tatum had a couple of runs but slipped once and then she was done. She is such a girl. I even went down one hill... well kinda Trevor and Triston were helping me on the saucer and I started going before we were ready and I knocked Trevor over on my lap. It was hilarious. So even with all the traffic and all the " When are we going to get there" and "Are we there yet" we made some memories that will last a lifetime.

Here is a math fact. When you increase the misery factor, the memory quotient expands exponentially.
